A mish mash!

Hi all

Here's another Christmas card from me. The background is a mixture of a Tattered Lace embossing folder and LOTV paper. The large die cut is a Tonic one and the holly die cuts are from SB - talk about a mish mash of manufacturers but it goes to show that they all go together very nicely!  I've added some pearl bling and lovely flowers and finished with green and tartan ribbon and a few gems. I added a little stickles to the wings and fur on my image.

Hope you all have a fabulous crafty weekend....take care...Lea x

In the Groove!

Hiya all out there in Blogland

I hope you've had a good few days...this week seems to have flown by! Mr B has been off most of the week and went back to work today. Well this gave me chance to try something new.  I have invested in some Groovi items from Claritystamps - I've been promising myself some for a few weeks now, now I've got excited am I?

Now I know this card isn't perfect.  I did practice getting used to the tools using the tree templates that came with the original kit while I waited for some lovely Christmas and flowery plates to come! Oh and some plates with wording too...shshhh don't tell Mr B I've been spending his money! Anyway I used a few different plates for this card and I suppose I am pretty pleased with it. I backed the parchment onto purple card using a special corner punch and then put this onto a silver mirror card.  This was added to a piece of white card embossed with one of Tattered Laces Christmas folders from last year (it is one I use all the time as I love it) and then added onto purple card again. I flaffed around with different types of ribbon for the bow but got there in the end and finished with some purple gems.  I feel confident enough to move onto the next parchment card now....hopefully I'll have another tomorrow...Lea x

And more from Kanban

Hello everyone

Just a short post from me today. Thank you as usual for the lovely comments made on my blog. I seem to spend half my life looking at brilliant cards on people's blogs. The more I look around the more I seem to find I like.  I actually don't have a favourite type of card either...I just like everything!!!

My two cards are from my good old Kanban pad. My stash of Christmas cards is slowly building although I still feel I'm way behind. The glitter on the second card looks better in real life. I won't go into them too much. Really they are made with matting and layering onto my base card and adding a few bits and bobs from my stash.

I was a lucky girl today. I won a set of dies on Sue Wilsons blog. To say I was excited is an understatement. She is my all time favourite crafter (sorry you guys lol) so I'm chuffed.

Right that's me done and ready for my bed now. Catch you next time..sleep well...Lea x

A Kanban Christmas

Hi everyone in Blogland

Seems like days since I was here but I don't think it's been that long lol. I've just come out of my craft room for my Saturday evening TV viewing :) Mr B is up to his armpits with paint downstairs. We are starting to make our new home 'ours' by putting our own stamp on it. Actually things are actually running to plan so wall had wallpaper on and it actually came off in sheets instead of tiny bits it normally strips down to. Unfortunately because of the fibro I'm not much use to Mr B. I used to be the unfortunate person that did all the glossing but because of the tremor in my arm I can't do that anymore (which is awful as I just love glossing....NOT!). Anyway looks like I'm on supervisory duties only :).

My cards are very simple ones today. I've been using the Kanban pad again to get some cards done for normal every day people (you know what I mean!)....not close friends and family ones! For the first card I embossed some blue card with a Crafters Companion folder. I really like this folder as it has a different pattern on the top to the bottom so you could use this to make lots of the same card but in different colours if you wanted to. I added silver ribbon across the centre. I also ran the wording through the top part of the folder too and raised it on some pads. This was all backed onto a textured white card. I finished by snipping into some silver foliage from my stash..I have no idea where it came from (another thing that must have sneaked in while I wasn't looking...seems to have been a lot of that lol) and last but not least I added a few silver pearls. These pearls were off the market in Gloucester - I wish I'd bought some more before I moved as I've never seen them anywhere else.

The second card consists of the topper being backed onto red then gold mirror card. The wording was raised onto pads and I finished by adding some red gems and some a Tonic Nuvo gold glitter. The glitter has been sitting in the cupboard waiting to be used. I feel I made a mess of it as I went over with my glue pen twice which made the glitter line a bit thick.  A lesson future trace the shape once. I'm not used to using glitter I must admit as usually I use stickles.

Well that's me done for today. Hope I haven't bored you too much..Lea x

Hi all in Blogland

I hope your weather has been better than ours. It has been horrendous windy and wet. I've sort of hidden indoors watching TV and doing a little crafting. My card is another LOTV one. I love this little's so cute. I used an SB die to cut it out and then cut out a green mat to go behind it. The stripe paper is also from LOTV and is also backed on the green. This was all added to a white piece of card. A piece of ribbon and matching bow was added to some embossed card - this was mounted onto sticky pads for dimension and a little poinsettia from my flower stash was added to finish. I did go hunting for some red gems as I thought these would stand out better than you think I could find any...NOPE...time to shop methinks...Lea x

And it's Christmas again!

Hi everyone

Gosh it's late again...I don't know where the hours go. I get engrossed in what I'm doing next it's nearly midnight. I've still got the Christmas cards on the go. Another image from LOTV from me with lovely LOTV papers...there could be a few of these over the next few weeks..the embossed piece of card was a scrap I'd made from a TL folder. Everything was backed onto a lovely silver mirror card. I finished with my usual gems, bakers twine and a snowflake charm.

Well I'm off for a cuppa before bed as I'm gasping for a drink..until next time all....Lea x

LOTV Christmas

Hi guys

Well I'm still doing well with the Christmas cards. I had a lovely parcel arrive the other day with lovely new papers and coloured art pads so I've switched to these for my cards....there's nothing better than a lovely delivery of goodies!

Most of you will know I've moved house, town, everything in the last few months.....well I'm lucky to live nearer family now. What I am getting to is I had a little helper making this card. My gorgeous Granddaughter was my assistant. She chose the papers and the images and helped do the cutting and sticking. I must admit I love this new paper is stunning...almost too nice to use! Everything was backed onto a gold mirror card and as you can see we've added a ribbon bow and a bakers twine bow.  I sewed a little holly charm onto the bow too. We finished with matching gems.

I look forward to many more crafting sessions with Grandchildren...Lea x

Three versions

Hi all

Here I am with some festive cards again....not quite bored with them yet although I am excited because I have had some new art pads (both Christmas and every day) and new paper pads delivered today from LOTV...doesn't take much to excite me as you can tell! These three cards again are made from the Kanban pad. I decided to keep the basic layout the same and just tweak them slightly. I backed the first one just onto yellow card and added a bow and gems to it.

This second one I added some gold mirror card to and made a poinsettia from a SB die and added gems again.

The third one was just backed onto the yellow card and gold mirror card and this time I just added some gems to it.  Interestingly my eldest son said he prefers this version and funnily I think I agree with him! The candle just seems to stand out better with no distractions.

I'm off now to my craft room for an hour before bed. I need to start playing with my LOTV goodies..until next time folks...Lea x

Kanban toppers

Hello all

I'm afraid my pictures aren't brilliant today. Firstly I'd already poly bagged them before I remembered I'd not took a photo of them and also any card that isn't a square I really find hard to photograph. The Create and Craft members gift was a really thick pad of Kanban Christmas toppers and matching papers and sentiments. These cards are made with the same toppers but I've added different bling to them to make them a little different. I added the toppers to white card and then onto some lovely dark sliver grey card. I added some sticky pads to the sentiment to give it dimension. I used some stickles on the snow on both cards. I added bling to one card and some pearl embellishments to the other. I think they look better in real life.

There are three of each toppers in the pad so I'm trying to do the three all at the same time but do each one slightly different...there's only two in this picture coz on this occasion I did two the same with the pearls...Lea x

Thank you

Hello everyone

Lots of thank yous from me today. Thank you for the lovely comments on my work on my blog, thank you for the lovely comments when I am feeling rubbish. Thank you just for following my blog full stop...I still get excited when I realise I have a new follower. I've actually just hit a whole 60 followers...I know it's not many compared to the amount some people have on theirs but it's huge to me - thank you everyone.

My card today is quite simple. The white card was embossed using a folder from Tattered Lace. I cut an aperture in it big enough to fit the topper. This was mounted on pads onto green card. I just then added gems and a bow..

Anyway that's me for today. I'm off to make some more Christmas cards as I'm on a roll at the moment...thanks again...Lea x

Forever Friends Christmas

Hi all

I hope you've had a good weekend. It's been a bit of a mix for me! Saturday saw a visit from my son and two grandchildren which was lovely and a bit of crafting in the afternoon. Then Sunday didn't start so good. I woke up not feeling very good...I had a bit of a fibro moment (or a few hours!) and spent until about 2 o'clock in bed. I don't know if it's the weather turning or what as I've had my fair share of some good weeks lately. The horrible thing is you end up where you forget what it's like and then it comes and floors you again. Right that is my moan over...I do try to look on the bright side and think there are people that have got it so much worse than me. Anyway I made myself get up and had a bath and hair wash which made me feel a bit more human. Then I took myself off to my craft room to transport myself somewhere else which did help loads.

I'm trying to work on my Christmas cards - my desk is just full of Christmas papers, toppers, stamps etc, it's a wonder I can work.  I'm trying to use bits up that I've had left over from the last couple of years. Mind you I've ordered some new paper pads from LOTV to add to it all and some coloured art pads. I've also got the new Groovi starter kit from Clarity sitting looking at me too - I've also ordered some Christmas plates to use with it....why is there so many lovely goodies out there? There's no hope is there?

Anyway to my card. I started with a shaped card blank. I used some paper from the pack I used the other day - I've since found out it is from Trimcraft by the way - I backed it onto white card. I then used an SB die to cut out a shape that almost matched the card blank.  The Forever Friends teddy is from a decoupage kit I was given. I added bakers twine for the washing line and finished with gems and some stickles on the fur on the boot and on his scarf (possible a stickle too far I think!). I stamped the wording from an LOTV stamp.

Anyway that's Grandchild no2's Christmas card made. After I'd finished this card I then looked at a pad I got that is from Kanban - it was the free members gift from Create and Craft. I hopefully have sorted it so I have quite a few Christmas makes I can put together quickly so watch this space...Lea x

Hello everyone

Well the weather is horrible here in Corby...very dull and been raining. A rotten day for bonfiring...brrrr I think I will stay in the warm tonight!

I'm trying to make Christmas cards at the moment. I've made one to give to my Granddaughter which brings my grand total to three made! How many weeks have we left till Christmas? The card started as a shaped card blank I found in my stash. I've had a few of these since right back when I started crafting so thought I'd try to use them up. I have no idea where I got the Christmas papers from but I chose two that complimented each other and mat and layered them together.  I love these images and this was a ready coloured one. I used two scalloped dies to make a frame for it. I stamped the sentiment from an LOTV die and used small scalloped dies to frame this too. The snowflakes are from different SB sets. I finished with some red gems and a bow (spot the deliberate mistake!) and used some sticklers on the ear muffs and boots. I must admit I am quite pleased with this card after being so critical of my last one...see I can give myself a compliment sometimes...Lea x

Bored now!

Hello all

I hope this finds you all well and surviving the horrible weather! I must admit this weather doesn't like me very much and plays havoc with my body! Unfortunately we don't have any say over it so have to get on with it.

Anyway the bored now is more to do with I've had enough of making male cards now. Those that know me know they're not my favourite. They all seem to come along at once. This is my last one for a few weeks...hubby's will be the next one. I must admit I'm not that happy with this one. It probably reflects my mood...there's something not quite right with it.

The background was made using an embossing folder. I cut a shape out using an SB die out of that and also out of a white layer. These were mounted on top of the image. I then added wording and embellishments.  I think I've overloaded with gems...unfortunately there's no going back once they're stuck on using Cosmic Shimmer glue! Anyway I'm afraid this card is what it is now...Lea x

Good evening all out there in Blogland

Well that's another weekend done and another month for that matter. Where on earth has this year gone? So much has happened to me...I can't believe I'm going to be home nearer family this year for Christmas - we'd been away for twelve years. My parents have been travelling down to us every year we've been down in Gloucester...they won't know themselves this year. Anyway I'm not quite at the Christmas stage as I'm still in birthday mode. This card is for my lovely Grandson who will be 14 this year.

The card was from a pack that was the members gift from Create and Craft. It really is lovely card with a different texture to anything I've bought. The whole pack was fab (different colours and different textures) - an absolute bargain for £2.99 postage! Anyway I embossed one sheet using the birthday wording embossing folder I love from Crafters Companion. This was backed onto black to make it pop. I then stamped an image which came with Stamper magazine a few months back. I thought it was quite cute. This was backed onto a piece of card which I had embossed lines onto using my scoring board and again was added to black card. The wording was from sets of stamps in my stash. I then added different types of bling..some stars, some hearts (very little ones!) and some round gems. That as you say was it! One more birthday card left to make for this month then I need to start batch making Christmas cards as I've only made the grand total of two so far! I do have the excuse of moving of course...Lea x
