New baby

Hello everyone

Hope this finds you well. Well my new baby is not of the human or animal kind...it's my car! I m waiting very excitedly for the call to say the chap is picking me up to go and fetch her. I never thought the day would come when I would have my own little car as I never thought I'd drive.

Right enough of that..now to my card. I'm churning out the male ones at the moment and do believe I've only got one more to do until November. Yay! I've yet again utilised the fab art pad from LOTV. What would I do without them? I've had to be careful which images I use as a couple of them are for brothers.

I just love this image. I've used papers from my stash layered onto grey and redish coordination card. I stamped the wording using LOTV stamps and finished with some black gems and bakers twine.

Anyway that's me done for today. I'll be back tomorrow to let you know how I've got on with my car. Until then...Lea x

Flower

Good morning everyone

Well what a strange weekend that was! Mr B had been away all week so I had missed him loads..he enjoyed the first week in his new job.  He took me out and bought me a car...I am more than excited as I pick it up tomorrow! Yay! I will be able to get from A to B without relying on anybody else or whether I can have the car or not. It's very strange because I only learnt to drive about 21 months ago (at the age of 52 might I add) as I'd never wanted to learn to drive but because of the fibro it has become a necessity. I'll let you know how it goes...I have just spent ages catching up on everyone's blogs as I feel I've missed loads..I apologise if I've missed anyone but my brain is addled now!

Anyway enough rabbiting about life, now for my card. It's slightly different to my norm. I've made a couple of different ones lately. I still can not bring myself to stick to a 'style' as I would get bored and that's after three years crafting.

I have some card blanks I was given and they have an aperture in the front and are a zigzag style..I don't know what they're meant for but they have been 'Brawnyied' hahaha. The sentiment was stamped from a freebie set of stamps from a mag.   I embossed just the front piece and also embossed a pretty piece of paper from my stash and then matched the embossing up through the aperture (hopefully that makes sense!). The flower is from a Sheena stamp and I found it already coloured in my bits box - I added this gorgeous brad to it and the gems and bow. I then lined the zig zag pieces with matching paper. It turned out quite pretty and I don't think the pics do it justice really.

 Well that's me done for now...until next time...Lea x

Yet another Nephew card!

Good evening all although it's very nearly morning haha

Well I hope this finds you all well. I'm afraid I'm struggling again this end - this poor old body is causing me problems again. I'm not sure I should even say where the pain has hit me now - let's just put it this way.......I am struggling to sit for very long at the moment! Cor it doesn't half hurt! Anyway I'm not moaning...I'm just saying lol!

Anyway even with all that I managed to make another Nephew card today. Not my favourite cards to make but the art pad from LOTV is just an amazing tool to have when you need a male card. I mat and layered blue coordination card along with brown Kraft card and some check paper from my stash. I stamped the 'Nephew' using a Docrafts stamp and the 'birthday wishes' was stamped using a little LOTV stamp. I then finished with a few gems.

Well that's me done for now. Thanks for coming by, see you again soon...Lea x

New baby

Hello everyone

Well I'll keep it short today as it's a weird day. Mr B started his new job today so tonight is just me and my strapping young son and he has informed me he is very hungry after a hard day at work. I thought I could just about sneak this blog post in before he gets in.

This card was made for my lovely Niece Kirsty and her husband Tony on the birth of my beautiful new Great Niece Niamh. The pram was cut on my ScanNCut so I was pleased with that. It actually did as it was told. I've struggled to get to grips with it and have sometimes been left very frustrated. The papers are from a 12 x 12 pad I have which is a baby one......I have no idea who by. The strip going down was made using a punch. The letters for Niamh were cut from the pad too. I added ribbon, lace, gems and buttons to finish.

Well I said it was going to be short....that's me for today...Lea x

Nephew card

Hello all

well here we are again! The weeks are shooting by...can you believe it's the third week in March? I can't seem to catch up with the cards I need to make. I need to really get a wriggle on.

This card is for my nephew. The image is from an LOTV art pad. The papers were from my stash. I did something I wouldn't normally do - I inked around the edges of all the papers and the image. I was really pleased with it...it took away the starkness of the white of the papers. I backed them all onto a green coloured shimmer effect card. I stamped the wording with a brown ink. The gems were coloured with a olive green Promarkers as I didn't have any to match the colours used.

All in all I'm pretty pleased with this male card :) only two more male ones to make for April. Right I'm off for now. Time to catch up with your blogs...see you there...Lea x

Good luck

Good evening everyone
Well I am on a roll today, I've made two and a half cards. Amazing really, I just didn't think about it and they flowed. This first one is a very simple one...it's needed for Friday so I had to make it quick as I've got a busy day tomorrow.

The papers are from a pad I was given ages ago. It's got lots of schooly things in it and as I wanted this card for a teacher it was ideal. Really the card is just lots of layers. I've finished with some bakers twine and gems. The wording is from one of the first stamp sets I ever bought.

And that's it basically! Thanks for coming by - your comments are much appreciated. Hope to see you here again soon...Lea x

Anniversary card

Hi all

Well it's the early hours of the morning and for some reason I have decided to blog at this ungodly hour! I thought if I don't do it now I won't get it done tomorrow.

This card is for Mum and Dad..they have been married for 58 years tomorrow. How amazing is that? They make me laugh so much when they are together. To get a photo I had to take it four times. I think coz the pink is so pale it's made it very difficult. The papers and topper are from the Kanban Lovely in Lace kit again. Do you get the feeling I love this kit? I have put it away for now...until I need something pretty again. I've added lace, ribbon and gems and the wording is from Britannia dies.

Well I've not much else to say for now...until next time...Lea x

Mothers Day no 2

Good evening everyone

Well I'm writing this with a very weary 'phew!!!'  What a mad dash it's been to get two cards done today with just a day to spare for them. This is my Mothers Day card for Mr Bs mum, my lovely
mother-in-law. It's sort of similar to my own Mumsys card. I've used papers and elements from the Kanban Lovely in Lace kit again. The sentiment is LOTV. The flowers are a mix from my stash...the small buds were made by my dear friend Christine in the USA. It's just about a year since we became friends after she kindly made and sent me an assortment of buds because I struggled to make them myself. The friendship that came about because of a comment I made on Facebook about making buds is still going strong today. If you're reading this Christine - I love you loads

That's me for today...be back tomorrow with my other make from today...Lea x

Mothers Day card

Good evening everyone

I hope this finds you all well. I have been AWOL as we had a party at home so was away for the weekend. It has been enjoyable but very tiring. I have a lot of catching up blog wise so look forward to having a look at what you've been up to.

This card is for my Mum for Mothers Day. I must admit I've faffed about loads with this one...it's been sat on my desk for nearly a week. I can't believe how quickly it's come together tonight after being away for a couple of days.  Obviously the break helped! The card base is purple and I've layered papers from the Kanban Lovely in Lace kit along with purple and white card. The second lot of layers have been raised on foam pads. The stamped sentiment is from LOTV. I finished with a bow, flowers and swirly leaves from a Sue Wilson die.

I hoped that all made sense haha as I'm writing this when I am seriously ready for my bed. Catch you next time..Lea x

Nephew birthday

Hello everyone

I hope this finds you all well. Gosh it's been a strange week...Mr B is at home with me till he starts his new job. I've been trying to sneak upstairs to get some cards made. I had to make this card pretty quickly as I realised it was my nephews birthday tomorrow.  Anyway the background I'd stamped ages ago with stamps by Inkydoodles using Momento inks and backed it onto orange card. I used scraps of white embossed card for the band across the card and added green spotty ribbon ending with some knots. The image is from a LOTV art pad...this has been a Godsend recently for male cards. It was backed onto the orange and the corners shaped with a punch. The sentiment was from an LOTV stamp. I finished with gems. I didn't have any the right colour so coloured some plain ones with an olive Promarkers pen.

Well that is all from me for now..I may be some time as I have a week to make two Mothers Day cards and an anniversary one and you know how long it takes me to make just one lol...Lea x

Mam

Hi everyone

I hope this finds you all well. Thank you for visiting and for the lovely comments. I must admit I've stopped worrying if I am slow making cards and am enjoying it again. This card was for an order and I must admit I wasn't happy with it at first but once I'd added the word "Mam' it came to life. The papers and die cuts are from Kanban and were backed onto black and white layers. The lettering was done using Tattered Lace dies and I shadowed the pink with black. I finished with pink spider web, ribbon and pearls. I'm keeping it short and sweet today but I must tell you before I go that Mr B has gone and got himself a new job which is a huge worry off our shoulders!

Catch you again next time...happy crafting...Lea x
