Hi all

Sorry I've been AWOL a few days. I've just been doing a bit of a catch up on blogs - I apologise if I've missed a few posts. Hopefully I will keep on top now. I've been AWOL coz I went for an impromptu visit to see my family so I'm a happy bunny. It was lovely to see parents, kids and grand kids. I just do not see enough of them.

My card today is for Mr Bs Dad as it is his birthday soon...fortunately he's a technophobe so won't see this card. The card is very simple. The background has been made using an embossing folder and then backed onto purple Coordination card. I used my ScanNCut to cut out the word 'Pap'. I'm still playing around and learning to use the ScanNCut. I just them added a few gems to finish.

I'm hoping to have a crafting day tomorrow so hopefully might have something else to show then. Take care until then..Lea x

Male card...again!

Hi everyone

Well I'm happy to say I'm making inroads through February's male birthday cards (big sigh!). It's not been too bad actually (I just like to be dramatic haha) as I've yet again used my LOTV art pad. This image is so cute.

Unfortunately the picture is not much cop. I've used brown and white layers with the top layer being an embossed one using a TL folder. I cut an aperture with an oval SB die. I stamped the wording and made a flag shape and just finished with some gems.

On to my next card, the last male one for a while! See you again soon...Lea x

Hi everyone out there in Blogland

A very quick post from me today as I need to get some jobs done. I will be popping round to see all your lovely creations later when I settle for the evening.

My card is another male one. I've used papers from my stash...I have no idea where they are from. The band is made from a piece of embossed scrap I had left from a previous card along with the same paper (state the obvious Lea!).  The stamp is from LOTV. A few gems finish the card.

See you all later...Lea x

Having a snooze!

Hello all

I hope you're all ok and having a busy crafting day. Thank you for all the lovely comments you've been posting. I'm very grateful for your kind words.

I've been finishing off this card which I started a couple of days ago. I do love these images from an LOTV art pad. The papers are also LOTV as is the sentiment. They are layered onto blue coordination card. I finished it with brown ribbon and blue gems.

I've still got three more male cards to make so I need to plod on. Catch you again soon...Lea x

Cutting File

Hello all

Well I'm starting to feel a little more like me now so have had a bit of a play on my ScanNCut! It has taken a little working out and I've worked out what it likes and what it doesn't like. It doesn't seem to like 300gsm card. I don't know if that is because I've done something wrong. Anyway I've managed to make a card using a cutting file from Monica's Creative Room which can be found here

This card is in three parts; the card base, a mat which I embossed and an insert which I thought I'd done wrong at first but realised it worked as I ended up being able to see the pretty paper through the front. I then added some pearl swirls and a pink flower. I will add wording when I decide what I want on it.

Anyway it's a start. I'll let you know how things go...Lea x

Male card

Hello everyone

Well it's my fave time of year - the time I have lots of male cards to make again! Fortunately I bought an art pad from LOTV and I already had the paper in my stash. I love this's just my sort of colours.

I've added loads of layers...I won't bore you with them all. Just to say though that one of the layers is embossed with a TL folder. The greys and burgundy card that has been used in the layers are Coordination card stock. I used a stamp from LOTV for the sentiment. I finished with some black gems. I am pretty pleased with this card and hope my BIL will be too.

Well that's me off for the night. Until next time..Lea x

Deep Rose

Hi everyone

Well it's been a few days. I've finally got to play with my new toy the ScanNCut. I used a free cut file from Birds which you will find here  There are some fab ones. I cut the deep rose border then put a black card base (which I ran through an embossing folder first ) behind it. The sentiment was from a free set from a mag. I finished with black ribbon, some pearls and a sparkly dazzler.

I was pretty pleased with my first attempt. Until next time...Lea x

I know!

Hello everyone

Yes I know I said no more Christmas cards but I found these hiding amongst some other work so I thought you might as well see them as I have nothing else to show. Unfortunately I am currently indisposed in my bed with a flare up of the fibro. The pain in my legs will not allow me to do very much this weekend - I'm so disappointed coz I've got lots of lovely cutting files downloaded on my new toy and can't sit at my desk and use it. Still I'm keeping my head up as I know usually there is an end to the flare ups. It's just a matter of time. In the meantime I am able to keep up with visiting everyone's else's blogs so every cloud has a silver lining.

Anyway the topper on the first card is from an old Kanban kit..the embossing in the background is a TL folder which has been added to red glitter card. It's finished with red gems and matching ribbon.

The second card is made using a SB embossibilities folder. This is added to black glitter card and is finished with bakers twine and black gems..very simple....a good batch card.

Well that's me done..until next time..Lea x

New toy!

Hi everyone

I hope this finds you all well and recovered from the Christmas and New Year excesses! I am totally focused back on my Slimming World journey and pleased to report I only put on 1.5lb over Christmas and then when I weighed last night I'd lost 3lb so chuffed. I've decided this year I am getting to target by mine and Mr Bs Silver wedding anniversary in July...see now I've put it out there I've GOT to do it now lol. Fortunately my mind is completely focused on my crafting. I've been trying to get to grips with my new toy the Brother ScanNCut! So far so good. Actually this is my first creation using it.

A friend asked me to make a card for her to give to someone who's going through a tough time and she specifically wanted the wording on the front of this card. I started by using a paper from LOTV backed onto pink and white card. I embossed the centre panel with an embossing folder, the make escapes me at the moment. The dotted flag piece is embossed using an SB one. The flower is cut out using my ScanNCut as are the leaves. I also used it to write the sentiment. I finished with an SB butterfly and added a trail of pearls. Last but not least I added a buttons with a  twine bow and some pearls.

I also got carried away and decorated the inside with a seemed a crime not to use the leftover pieces :)

Well that is me for today..I'm off back upstairs to continue my SNC journey...Lea x

Hi everyone

Well it's my Grandsons birthday today. This of course means I can show his cards.

This card is a very different colour for me but I wanted to use colours that blended well with the image which is from an art pad by LOTV. The papers are from LOTV too and have been backed onto an orange mirror card. I stamped the sentiment in orange ink and backed this onto a die cut from SB. I finished with some gems.

Before I go I thought I'd say I've had a huge sort out today of my crafty stash. This came about because we had to shift my desk into the garage over Christmas so we could accommodate all our visitors. It was really nice to have the dining table back so we decided to leave it where it was...the question was where on earth was my desk going? The answer is into the spare room...boy did we have to do some rejigging in there..well Mr B did as I can't move or lift very much. Well we have a new home - by we I mean me and my new Brother ScanNCut! I actually cut something on it tonight - I've been too scared before in case I muck it was fine! Anyway tomorrow I'll post a pic of my new work area. I must admit I will be very happy in there as it's my favourite room in the whole house.

Right that's me done..until tomorrow...Lea x

The Last of Christmas...promise!

Hi everyone

Well I just thought I'd show the last few Christmas projects I did.  The first is an easy peasy card...I used an embossing folder for the trees and just trimmed it to size and backed it on green mirror card and white card. I stamped the sentiment directly onto the card base and finished with some gems.

The bags were made by embossing some Kraft card with a corner folder from a Tattered Lace. I then cut some snowflakes in white and also some others in mirror card. These were layered and gems adding to them.

That is Christmas all done..until the next one! How quickly will that come I wonder..? That's me for today..until next time..Lea x
