Navy and cream creation

Hello everyone

Well once again I'm blogging when it is bedtime! I'm becoming a real night owl.

The card I'd like to show you today is a commissioned one and one I am particularly proud of. It was ordered a few months ago for a September birthday and the brief was that they would like it to reflect september's birth stone which is sapphire.

It is a 6 x 6 inch card. The backing papers are from a Papermania pack of papers called Parisienne Blue and they were backed onto a navy mirror card which was from my stash. The sentiment was PC generated and I inked through the SB die I used to cut it out. Lace and ribbon were added and it was finished with some lovely navy gems and bling swirls. The flowers were from a pack I bought from Wilcos and just happened to be perfect for what I needed.

As I said I am proud of this one and I hope you like it as much as I do. Thanks for coming by...Leax

Back to Christmas

Hi all out there in Blogland

I hope this finds you well this Friday evening. I am currently snuggled up with a cup of hot chocolate looking at all your wonderful work on your blogs. Thank you for your kind comments on my creations - it is greatly appreciated.

Today I am throwing in another Christmas card. Another of those cards where I have no idea how I got to where I have. I started by playing around with an embossing folder I got as a freebie on a magazine - it really is a lovely folder and I think I'll be using it a lot. I did, however get carried away with the Stickles on this as I highlighted all the embossing with it. I backed the embossed card onto red card and added it to a Kraft card base. I decoupaged a Forever Friends image  and added lots of gems. Then just as I thought I'd finished and had put it to dry.....

I added a tartan bow.

I hope you'll agree it just gave the card a bit of a lift. Well that's me for another day. I have no idea where they all go....Lea x

Embossed background

Hi everyone

Well I'm not sure if this is an early or late post - could be either.

Anyway another quite simple card today. I used my brayer to ink an embossing folder with Archival Cornflower ink - I bought this ink pad the other day and think I'm in love with the colour. I've made three cards using this colour. I trimmed and backed this onto a teal coloured card. I then just stamped the word 'nephew' with the same ink pad and just added some blue coloured gems.

Well that's me done for today. Until next time...Lea x

Gorjuss Girl again

Hello everyone

Well it's a bit chillier today and I do not like it one bit. It's been quite a nice day though because I had a nice unexpected visit from Son no 1 today.

My card today is another Gorjuss one. It is a decoupaged image again which with my hand is quite fiddly but perserverence paid off and I managed. I put a string of beads round the image. The backing paper was layered onto a lilac colour card. Lace, ribbon, bakers twine and pearls were added to finish. I used a tiny punch to make the little flower.

Well that's me for today, very short and sweet again. Until next time...Lea x

Pretty Petals

Hi all

Well here we are again - this time with the second of my daughter's birthday cards. This one is a very simple card. I used a flowered embossing folder to emboss some white card. This was backed onto yellow and black and added to a hammered effect card base. Using the Pretty Petal SB dies I cut a solid flower and an open one and layered them up. I used a Britannia die for the 'sister' sentiment then finished with some black pearls.

I do like the clean look of this card. Thanks for coming by - see you next time....Lea

Christmas Bauble

Good morning all

Back to a Christmas card today folks! I'm thinking if I make one Christmas card a week I'm never going to get them made in time so I need to get my skates on which unfortunately means you've got to suffer Christmas along with me - mind you I've noticed I'm not the only one. The reaction from non crafters when you mention you're making Christmas cards is hilarious.

The background started with some backing paper backed onto Kraft card. I then embossed two corners of Kraft card using a Tattered Lace folder to which I added some Bakers twine. The image is a ready coloured one and this is backed onto an SB die cut. The baubles are cut from SB dies and added along with some pearl beading and Bakers twine. The snowflakes are, yes you guessed right - from Spellbinders too. The sentiment is from my stash. I finished with some gold pearls and a ribbon bow. I then got carried away with some Stickles which is a new fave of mine.

Well that it for today. I've got to attempt to do some housework now which isn't easy as I have no energy for anything today. Heyho such is life...have a good day....Lea x

Veeerrry different for me!

Hello everyone

I hope this Sunday afternoon finds you well. It is my lovely daughter's 32nd birthday today so I'd like to wish her a happy birthday. As it is her birthday I can now blog her cards! The one for today is so very different to anything I've ever done before.

I used Heartfelt Creation Majestic Blooms stamps for this card and a matching die that cuts out the blooms. I stamped on black card using Perfect Medium and added different colour mica powders to the image. I've had the mica powders for months but never used them before. I stamped the word daughter and embossed with silver embossing powder. The black card was backed onto silver and jade mirror card which was added to a mat of black and white card. I finished with lilac ricrac ribbon and a lilac bow.

The inside was decorated with a black and white insert with another flower added.

Now I'll be very honest...I'm still not sure if I like this card and am not sure if I will try this again - we'll see...Lea x

Gorjuss Girl

Hi everyone

Well it's been a few days again! Unfortunately I haven't been well for a few days but am coming out the other end again. I've been desperate to craft but just have not had the energy to do any so have sat around like a zombie. The last few cards I have made I've not been able to blog anyway.

Anyway today I've crafted just for the enjoyment which is something I feel I lose when I'm doing cards ordered for other people. With this card I crafted straight onto the card base instead of doing lots of mat and layering - it was too nice a card to cover up completely. I matted a triangle of paper onto silver mirror card. Then diagonally added some lace and pearl string. I decoupaged a Gorjuss image and added pearls all the way round (I got a little carried away as only cards for orders usually get this much bling).  I die cut flowers from SB dies and used my new Sue Wilson dies for the Swirly leaf design. A lacy bow was added to finish with a pearl in the centre of the flower and a few more in the corner.

I hope you like what you see. It's good to be back, until next time....Lea x

Anyone for Cricket?

Hello everyone

Well it's been quite a few days since you saw me and although I've wanted to blog, the only card you haven't seen (apart from this card) is one I can't show yet. I'm in family birthday mode at the moment. I have a fair few male cards to make which as you all might know I find hard going. The card I've got to show you today is a male card and actually I'm really quite pleased with it. See what you think....

The papers are from my stash. I coloured my LOTV stamped image with Promarkers. I must admit my colouring isn't up to much. This was the third attempt - I wasn't happy with the first two. I don't think I colour enough therefore really don't get enough practise. I originally die cut it out and wasn't happy with that either so cut round the image then inked round it so it wasn't so stark against the papers. I gave it some dimension by using sticky pads. I used SB Cog dies and inked them all while they were still in the die. I love this effect. The wording is done using Britannia dies. Then I finished with some gems.

Well that's it from me for now. Until next time...Lea x

Mum and Dad card

Hello everyone
I hope you are all well. The card was actually supposed to be another Forever Friends card and I made the background for it - I have no idea how I ended up where I have.

The background paper was from my stash but I changed it by putting it through a a Crafters Companion folder - it has snowflakes at the top and dots at the bottom. All the die cuts are from Spellbinders. The words are from Brittania dies. I added lots of pearls, ribbon and bakers twine and finished with lots of Stickles.

Well that's me. Very short and sweet today. Until next time...Lea x

Christmas again!

Hello everyone
I hope this finds you well. What a strange day it's been weather wise today - one minute the sun was out, then it was black, then it was just grey..very weird indeed!

Well another Christmas card today. Now it is another Forever Friends decoupage image. I confess to getting carried away with this card. If I had my time again I'd make some changes - I didn't emboss the green paper so it's a bit flat.  I got carried away with the little white snowflakes - I certainly wouldn't have all those on it and actually would've added more of the little gold die cut one. Still they are stuck now and I'm sure someone will love it. The trees are from an SB die as are the prezzies. The sentiment was in my stash. It was finished with a double gold bow, a little red ribbon and loads of red gems.

And there you have yet another Christmas card. I'm working on another at the moment but after that it's time to start some family birthday cards. Until next time everyone...Lea x
