First gift bag

Hello there
I hope this finds you well. Before I start rabbiting I'd like to say thank you for the lovely comments that have been left on my blog. I've tried over the last few days to keep up with everyone's - I just hope I haven't missed anyone out.

Well my post today as it says is a gift bag - my very first. I wanted a small bag for a gift for a friend and remembered I'd been given a pack of five white bags. I've looked at them in the shops before but had always decided not to bother. The papers used are from my never ending stash that I was given.

The flowers are from new SB pretty petal dies. I've just bought these and had really hoped they be here to make the bag as they are so pretty. I cut them in coordinating papers. The leaves are adapted from the petals too and the stem were just cut strips of paper.

I used a curved corner cutter on both the tag and the peach paper.

I added pearls to the flowers and tag. I used a pale peach ribbon to tie the tag to the bag. I must confess to being really chuffed with my little project :) I think you'll be seeing a lot of these flowers.

Well that's me off for now. Back to making my Christmas cards...Lea x

40th Birthday card

Hi everyone
Well I've been AWOL a couple of days. I haven't been able to get my head together at all but hoping I'll be back with bed knobs on over the weekend. I've been hanging on to the card I'm blogging today. It is a friends 40th birthday and this is her card.

It's in a very pretty colour. The first layer is hammered card backed onto aqua card. The pretty paper is from my stash and I backed this on the same aqua card. The dies I've used are from the Tonic birthday die set and the sentiment is from Britannia dies. I've decided to add to my sentiment dies bit by bit and these dies were bought from a little craft shop in Gloucester. It's great coz they sell all the different words separately so I only buy what I want. I finished with a few gems - don't faint but there's not a bow or ribbon in sight, unusually for me.

Well that's me for now. Until next time....Lea x

On a roll

Hello everyone

Well another Christmas card has been made - I think that's six ticked off the list! I have no idea how many more I shall be needing. I don't make my list until much further near the time. I usually end up making those 'special' cards for family right near the end (although my Grand daughter's is already made).

I have a few of these toppers - I absolutely love them. They were in the stash of stuff a very nice lady gave me a few months ago. I know I have said that many a time but there was just so much stuff. Any way I started this card by running the red card through the corner embossing folders that are from Tattered Lace. They do emboss beautifully. I backed this onto green Centura Pearl. I cut the topper down a little using a circle die and then cut a separate mat using SB Lacey Circles. The topper was then put on that using sticky pads for a bit of height. The poinsettias are from my SB dies (my new fave dies). The sentiment is from my stash as is the bow and gems. I highlighted the wings and fur with Stickles.

Thank you for dropping by. I look forward to a little blog hopping now....Lea x

Hi everyone

Well when I look at this card I feel that my eyes are on wonky - hopefully it is the way I've photographed it and not my craftiness that's up the creek. Another Forever Friends decoupaged image today - it is difficult to see this I know. I must admit I think this image is really sweet.

I used a kraft card base for this card. I backed some green paper which I embossed with a TL embossing folder again - this was the snowflake one - onto gold mirror card. I then backed two pieces of snowflake paper onto mirror card (I used a snowflake punch along the bottom of the paper first) leaving a gap between them. I added some white ribbon across the gap. The image was added to this. I finished with a sentiment, bow and gems.

Before I go I'd like to say thank you for all the kind comments you've left me. It really is appreciated very much. I'm off back to my desk - I should just about have time to start another card...Lea x

Forever friends Christmas card

Hello everyone out there in Blogland

I hope it's a bit warmer where you are....brrrr I'm freeeeezing! I can certainly feel the cooler temperatures coming in. I keep putting my cardi on, taking it off, putting it on lol.

I've not been able to get my head together with my card making this week. I was given lots of Forever Friend decoupage sheets a few months back so the other night I sat quietly with my PInflair glue and made up six different toppers ready to make Christmas cards with. This is the first of those toppers. With the sheets came some lovely good quality Christmas papers too. I've used one of these but embossed it first with one of my lovely new Tattered Lace embossing folders (the ones where you get a matching corner and two strips). I also embossed a piece of green card too. I backed it all onto gold mirror card. I added some red ribbon and gems and a die cut snowflake (made with a SB die).

As I said this is the first of six toppers so I'm sure it won't be long until the others follow. At least I hope not...until next time...Lea x

Hi everyone
I hope by putting a title of Christmas I'm not putting too many people off. I've been itching to start my Christmas cards but couldn't start until I'd finished my wedding cards.  However I have a confession to make - I can not get a photo of the whole card so you have got two ends and a bit of the middle. It has driven me mad. I just can not get the photo to resize properly. You should be able to get nearly the whole picture by the pics I've posted.

I bought a new embossing folder and had embossed a green piece of paper and I hated it! Like I've done before I flipped it over to the white side and didn't mind it at all. I have cut off the bottom of the embossing as I didn't need it. I used some backing papers I had left over from last year (not a clue who they're by) and backed these onto gold mirror card. I added some red ribbon as extra interest. I then cut out some of my new SB poinsettia dies - I love them and they shape beautifully. I cut out some SB flourishes and added these behind the poinsettia. The tag is from my stash. I finished with a bow and some gold gems.

hope you like it..what you can see of it lol.....Lea x

Wedding card

Hi all

It has been days and days since we last 'met'! Unfortunately the weather has played a part in that - fibro does not like the weather that we've had over the last few days. I have also had some wedding cards to make and they seem to have taken an age because of the knock on effect of the weather - did you actually understand all that hahaha?

Anyway the card I have to show is a Wedding card - the checked background paper is from LOTV. I've nearly finished the paper pack so need to replenish it very soon.

The lilac checked paper is a freebie from a mag and the white has been embossed with my favourite Teresa Collins folder. The sentiments are PC generated and the hearts die cut using my fave Tonic Affection dies. They've been backed onto purple card from my stash. I've finished with lace, ribbon, gems and a sparkling dazzler on my bow.

Well hopefully it won't be quite so long till I see you again. Take care...Lea x

A quick p.s. In case you wondered the recipients have already opened their card hence it being blogged today :)

Silver Wedding Card

Hi all

Well the weather sure has changed over the last couple of days. I think I've been spoilt by the nice weather - mind you I'm not so keen on it when it's boiling hot - I'm a bit like Goldilocks, I like it when it's just right :) I like it where you just have a nice warm breeze to take the edge off.

Anyway now I've bored you all with the card is the 2nd of the Silver Wedding cards I've made recently.

I added pretty paper onto the bottom of a pierced piece of card. The top was embossed with a Theresa Collins embossing folder - it's one of my favourite folders and I use it quite often on this type of card as it's quite a classy pattern (see those of you that know me well didn't know I did classy lol). The frame is cut from SB labels 20. The paper I cut the frame from was an accident really. It is a piece of paper I'd covered with fine glitter then put an SB Lattice die background on - I hated how it turned out but didn't want to waste it so cut the frame from it. I have other bits left I'll be able to use on other cards so waste not want not as they say. If you look carefully you will see I cut a white frame out with labels 20 and backed the patterned frame with it. This was then placed over my PC generated sentiment. The flowers and leaves are from a Sue Wilson die. I finished with some ribbon, pearls and gems.

Before I go I'd like to thank you for your lovely comments and kind wishes. I know there are a lot of crafters who like me started out through finding themselves struck down with an illness. I know I don't know what I'd have done if I hadn't found crafting - it really keeps me sane. Not only do I love card making but I really love visiting your blogs too. Thank you for doing me the honour of visiting mine - I've been a bit remiss lately because I hadn't checked recently and realised I've got some new followers. Welcome and thank you for popping by to this little corner of MY world....Lea x

Silver Wedding Card

Good morning all

Well I think the suns trying to shine out there - it does feel warmer today. I'm going to have a crafty day today. It's going to be a bit of a test actually. As some of you will know I have a dystonic tremor in my right arm and being right handed it can be quite problemic (is there such a word) and I can throw my gems and bits and pieces all over. Quite a funny sight I'm sure. Well my meds have been changed so I will be able to see if it has made a difference. I just love my crafting and could do it all day but I do get frustrated that I can't churn out more cards than I do. It seems to take me hours and hours to make one card. I am itching to get on with my Christmas cards but have cards for family members to make first. I do wonder if my hand did as it was told more often whether I would get quicker at making cards. Here's hoping anyway....

Anyway I'm pleased to say that today I can blog a Silver Wedding card I've been sitting on. The recipients will have received both of the ones I made yesterday so my friend who ordered it said it's okay to blog it now.

I started by backing a silvery grey backing paper onto silver mirror card. I then put some grey card through my SB dotty embossing folder and mat and layered this onto the silver and then onto white. I added a patterned paper at the bottom which was separated by a pretty silver linked ribbon I bought from The Range. Because the ribbon was so thick I had to add pads to lift this layer before adding it to the other layers.

My sentiments were PC generated in a matching silver font. I cut the names using my fave Tonic heart dies. These
are just superb for these types of card - I don't know what I'd do without them! I mounted this onto silver mirror card and then onto another heart die cut. The other sentiment was backed onto the grey card. I then just finished with some swirls of gems.

Anyway thank you all for popping by again. I appreciate all your very kind comments. Until next time...Lea x

80th Birthday Card no2

Hello everyone

I hope this finds you well on this day of very variable weather. I don't know about anyone else but it ain't doing me any good whatsoever - I've been in a grumpy mood all day coz I hurt. Those with fibro and other conditions similar will know what I mean. Anyway enough of the moaning I  finally finished my second male card I was working on. Boy did I faff around with this one. I'd got in my head what I wanted it to look like and ended up with loads of die cuts that I didn't use. I will no doubt use them on another project. I don't know about you guys but I have a big box of die cuts that I've cut for cards and not used.

Anyway I was happy with my card in the end.

I used papers from one of the packs I was given a few months ago - I have used so many of these. I used the PC to generate the sentiment. I've used all SB dies on the card  - lots of the ones I first bought when I started out card making are starting to see the light of day again after being at the bottom of the pile for ages. These are from Asian accents and Asian motif and the circle is from Lacey circles. I then finished with gems and ribbon. I never know whether to put ribbon on male cards but I decided I could get away with it if I tied a knot in it instead of a bow.

Right I'm off to my bed now - an early night is called for.  Catch you all again soon...Lea x
