Fathers Day take two

Hi everyone

I hope you are all well out there in Blogland.

Well I'm going to make this short. This card as you see is similar to the last card, the difference being the image. I decided that as I was quite happy with my cricket card in the end I would use the same elements. The image is from the SWALK CD too. The card is for my dad and as he has recently had a new false tooth I thought it was apt.

Well I'm off as I have a ton of cards to make. Have a good evening....Lea x

Fathers Day card

Hi all

Wow it's been a few days since I last posted. I hope you've all had a great Bank holiday if it applies to you. I have no idea where the days have gone yet again. Unfortunately I've not been at my best and haven't even considered going into my craft room. Hey ho I'm here now so all is good.

I'm making male cards AGAIN! It must be that time of year! This one has been quite a challenge. It is a commissioned one and I was asked to feature cricket on the card. No problem I thought. I knew I'd got some bits and pieces in my crafty stash. Well my mojo flew right out of the door. I just didn't like the colours I used, I didn't like what I'd put together for the card so in the end it became one of those half finished cards hidden in the back of the cupboard. However....I did find this sweet cricketer in amongst my bits and pieces - it was on a SWALK CD I had been given a long time ago. So all was not lost in the end.

The backing papers are from one of the paper packs I was given a couple of months ago - how many times have I written that? The sentiment was generated on the PC and cut out with SB dies. I cut a few extra of the SB shape to dress the card. The image and accessories were coloured with my Promarkers and then cut out. Unfortunately because of my tremor that was a job in itself. I added a piece of ribbon and a length of another SB die cut across the centre and added gems to finish. I then added an insert made with a coordinating paper and die cut. That is another card crossed off the list!

I was wondering the other day what on earth I did before I started making cards. Do you know....I can't remember! I love making my cards - even though my mojo does escape occasionally! It really  has been a lifeline to me over the last couple of years and has kept me sane. I read the other day that a lot of people get into crafting through having health problems. It was certainly that in my case and I hope to craft for many a year to come.

Well that is me done. Happy crafting and see you all again soon....Lea x

Fathers Day Card

Hi all out there in Blogland

I hope you've all had a lovely sunny weekend. It's been beautiful here again. Long may it last.

Well my card is for either mine or Mr Bs dad for Fathers Day. It has been done slightly different to any other. The background is all one piece. It's a piece of wallpaper I found. It has just about everything on it, sparkle, silver strip across and a nice piece of black sparkly across it too.  I used a SB set of dies to do the corners and the two bands added just to dress the wallpaper up. I stamped the sentiment with a stamp I got free with a Docrafts magazine (to be honest I bought the magazine because they were free with it - a bargain because there were four large stamps and three smaller ones). I cut the sentiment out with SB Decorative Element dies and used black and silver stacked dies for a bit of height and then finished with red gems to give it a bit of colour.

It was quite an easy card to make. Right I'm off to think about Fathers Day card number two....Lea x

Pretty in pink

Hi everyone

I've been a bit AWOL I know. I must admit I've not made it into my craft room for days. Unfortunately I've been in the middle of a family crisis which has eaten into any time I've had at all. The knock on effect has been it has impacted on my health and I'm in an awful lot of pain. I can't sit for long, I can't stand for long - anyone got any ideas for an alternative haha. My poor hands are really painful too. Now I'm not after the sympathy vote but I'm aware that I do follow peoples blogs both on Blogger and Facebook and people are good enough to comment on my cards when I post therefore if I'm missing for a while I like people to know why.

Anyway somehow I managed to get into my craftroom yesterday. I needed to because I needed a card for a family members birthday. I used my new Tonic header dies to get the lovely cut out edge. You can leave this in the card or use an extra die to have the cut out on the edge of the card. I then used a pink and white spotty paper backed onto pink card. The sentiment is from a die that was a freebie in a card magazine a couple of months ago. The flowers are from two SB dies. I use these a lot. I changed them slightly by shaping the petals this time. I then added ribbon and gems to finish.

I also put a matching paper inside. When the card is closed it shows through the cutout section. Anyway that's me for today. Time for some Blog catch up now. Thanks for popping by...Lea x

Pearl Wedding 2

Good morning everyone

Here we are again. I hope you are all well out there in Blogland. Well Mr B has gone back to work after the long weekend so it is all quiet here. I'm going to have a quiet day today (as usual lol) and just do a few crafty things.

A couple of days ago I had a sort out of sorts....meaning I sorted nothing haha. I did sort out a couple of boxes that had scraps of card in that I saved for that occasion when I might need them. I just can not bear to throw anything out. In the end I sorted into white and coloured and promised myself before I cut into new sheets I will check if I have a suitable piece in the scrap boxes first. I bought a couple of boxes for my papers too which made me really look at what I've got. I'd forgotten what lovely papers there were in my stash. This card I'm going to show today has some papers on that I found while going through the boxes. I must admit I am particularly fond of this card..I think it is the colour of it. It is the second Pearl anniversary card I did for my friend.

I backed the base card with some of the green paper - I can't remember who the paper was by...sorry! Then I used a piercing ruler to go round the edge of some white card and then put matching paper on this. I used a SB die to cut out the PC generated sentiment and inked it while it was still in the die and added this to the pierced layer too. I put some ribbon and pearl on a string across the card. I then did something different to normal and put some ribbon hanging behind the topper. I then added a bow to the top of the die. I then just finished with some pearls. I must admit I do really love how this card turned out.

Thanks for popping by again and for all your kind comments. I'll see you again soon...Lea x

Pearl Wedding

Hi everyone

I hope you've had a fab Bank holiday weekend. Fortunately the weather held off which does make a huge difference in how you feel. We popped to our B&Q today and the car park for the first time in ages was heaving with cars. Obviously a lot of people DIYing at the moment. I bought a rug for my craft room. When I had a new chair for in there we left off the wheels as we were worried about the pressure on the quite newish carpet. The only problem is, is that it's been a bit of a bind if I needed to move nearer my desk etc. it was far too heavy for me to keep moving. The solution....a nice new hard wearing rug and the wheels put on the chair. So much better!!!

My card today is one I was commissioned to do. The nice thing is it was for a good friend of mine (not that it makes any difference - I like to think I put care into all my cards commissioned or not!) who's Pearl Wedding Anniversary it is today. Happy Anniversary Angela and Dave!!!

Anyway back to my card. I found this one really difficult to get a decent photo of. I don't know if it's because it's got a lot of white on it. Although you can't see it the bottom panel has been scored upwards and then the purple paper added to the top. Ribbon and lace was used across the card and a matching bow made.  I used Tonic dies for the layers and the sentiment was PC generated. The 30s are also a Tonic die. I finished with some flowers, faux gems and of course some pearls!!!

I know the recipients were very pleased with the card. There is another one to show tomorrow....until then.... Lea x

Uncle card

Hi out there in Blogland

Well it's been a few days. I have actually been making some commissioned cards but I can't show them for a few days until the recipient has them. I did also make this Uncle card. As you know, me and male cards are a bit of a no no but I got the job done.

I took a piece of brown patterned paper and stamped the word 'uncle' randomly all over it. I then stamped my sentiment.  I used my scissors to distress the edges then just went round the edges with brown ink. I embossed some cream card stock and added this all onto a kraftcard base. I added some ribbon tied into a knot and finished with some green gems. Unfortunately I now have another male card to make!

Have a good Bank holiday....Lea x
