How long till Christmas?

Hi everyone

I only ask because I feel like I've been making Christmas cards forever and ever! It seems to be all I do at the moment. I have an order to fulfill now for 5 biggies so I'm still going to be Christmassing (yeah I know there's no such word!) for a while. That's without me doing my own family cards. Still it's an excuse to keep crafting I suppose.

Now this card is one I am particularly happy with. I had cut quite a few snowflakes the other day while I was die cutting some other bits and pieces so thought I'd use some of those. All the card and paper on this card came from my scraps file. I have a ring binder which is full of bits of card I've not wanted to throw as I just knew they'd come in handy...and they did! I didn't want to go overboard with colour on this but knew the grey needed something to lift it hence I used the red bakers twine and the gems. I do like adding the Christmas charms to some of the cards too. I forgot I'd got them at one stage so I keep the box by my side so I remember they're there. Anyway I'd be interested in what you think about the card as Mr B just says 'yep, its ok' which tells me zilch! Drives me mad!!!

Well I'm sure I'll be back tomorrow as I've got a few cards to show you. Until then all....Lea x

Sold!

Hello there fellow bloggers

I hope this finds you all well. I am very excited as I have sold 4 cards this week through my Folksy shop. I didn't think it would happen. I was a bit of a devil though - I had made loads of Christmas cards for family and friends from me and I have sold three of them. At least it gives me an excuse for more crafting...I refuse to shop buy any!

This card is another very simple one made using an embossing folder. These are very hard to photo but I  think you get the gist. I'm not particularly fond of green but it warranted it as it was a tree. I added a gold die cut snowflake and a double bow with gold in it as a highlight. A few gems to finish and I was done.

I am off to do a bit of blog hopping. I have been a bit distracted over the last few days so haven't had a look at what you've been up to. Until tomorrow...Lea x

Christmas cards

Hello all

Well I must be feeling a bit better - this is the second day of blogging. It's been a lovely day again. A very dear friend of mine came visiting me. I haven't seen her for a few weeks as I haven't been able to work and that's where we usually have a natter! She bought me choccies and a plant so I've been very spoilt.

I have spent the rest of today uploading Christmas cards to my Folksy shop. I had only sold a couple of cards so far so I was pleased when after five minutes of sticking a Christmas card on there one sold.

My card today is of course a Christmas card. I've just had a quick scout to check which ones I've already blogged. I'm getting far too old for this thinking malarky! I do hope I haven't posted this one.

This is such a simple card. I used an embossing folder to get my bauble. It's so hard to get a decent picture of ones I use embossing folders for - this isn't too bad. I just then backed it onto black card and added the check bow and gems. How simple was that!!!

Well I'm off to see what the world is up to on the old internet. Until tomorrow folks...Lea x

Snowflake ted

Hello all
Well I've had a lovely day with my brother and sister-in-law today. We went out for lunch and talked and talked. I do miss everyone living 100 miles from them. I know it's not a huge distance but it seems like it sometimes.

Well it's been a few days since I blogged. I've not done very much crafting for the last couple of weeks even though I've been off work poorly for a few weeks. Well I'm trying to remedy that now. I've had this card on the go for a while. I coloured the image weeks ago and couldn't decide what to do with it. In the end I dry embossed a piece of white card with an embossing folder. I used some purple distress ink to lift it. I added lace and ribbon and sat the image on an SB diecut which I inked through. The bottom is made by a new set of stamps by Inkydoodles. I think the sets called country checks. I threw in lots of different diecut snowflakes with faux pearl embellishment. I ended up with a very girlie Christmas card.

Well here's hoping I can get back to it this week....love Lea x

Poinsetta

Hi all out there in Blogland.

I hope this finds you well and crafting loads. I've managed to finish a card I started ages ago. I am crafting surrounded by cushions and pillows to keep me upright at the mo. I can not tell you how much my legs and behind hurt from the fibro. I am sorry if it sounds like I'm moaning but I'm really not. I'm just very grateful I'm able to do a bit of the old cutting and sticking, be it whilst being held up by my upholstery.

Anyway this is another Christmas card this time with a poinsetta backing paper backed onto an olive green mirror. I stamp and embossed the 'Merry Christmas' the other week and didn't use it. I cut round it and backed onto the mirror card. I chose the olive to match the leaves on my poinsetta flower embellishment. I also used some white flowers with pearl and red gems to embellish the card. This card is probably one of my faves so far. I hope you agree...Lea x

And more Christmas

Hello everyone

Thank you to those who have sent me their good wishes over the last few days. I am feeling a smidge better today I'm pleased to say.

Well the Christmas cards just keep on coming.  I actually managed to sit and make one yesterday. I'm suprised really that I'm not bored with Christmas yet but I suppose doing them a bit at a time helps.

I am trying to use some toppers I've got laying around. As I've got them I thought its a shame not to use them. I also found lots of Christmas charms that I bought earlier in the year to put on my Christmas cards! I hadn't used any of them! I backed this topper on to a SB die then backed some Christmas papers onto an olive coloured mirror card. I added some ribbon and a holly charm to finish.

I hope you like it....Lea x

Robins

Good afternoon fellow crafters

I hope this finds you well. I'm a little better today. Still not crafting much as it's a struggle to sit in one position for long. I also have a tremor in my hand which tends to get worse when I'm unwell. As I am right handed and the tremor is in that hand it can cause much amusement from others. I've had many a moment when I've ended up with yogurt all on my face after amazingly missing my mouth. Many a pea has escaped my clutches at dinner time too! I am actually having a brain scan on Sunday (yes you read right...on a Sunday!) to see if they can find a cause for the tremor. It does actually run in my family what with both my parents and my daughter suffering from this. I just hope they are successful in locating the old grey matter on Sunday!

Well enough of all that and onto yet another Christmas card. I'm afraid it's all Christmas at the mo. For this card I used a hammered effect base card. I had a robin topper that I really liked so I wanted to incorporate that. This was very simple. I stamped and embossed a sentiment in green.  I used a piece of card I had floating in my stash and embossed a line all the way round. Such a simple thing but it changes the look of the card. I added the topper on top and just a few gems. So simple.....well enough from me...Lea x

Christmas cards

Hello all in Blogland.

I apologise if this sounds like a moaning Minnie post but unfortunately the fibro has flared again so I've not been able to sit on my behind properly never mind craft. It's extremely frustrating because the kit is all there staring at me. Instead I've just been getting some ideas down to keep my hand in and I may do some coloring tomorrow then at least I'll feel like I'm crafting.

I am posting a couple of Christmas cards I did last week. I'm still plodding on with them - I think I've very nearly finished all of mine except special family ones. They're the ones I've been planning today.

For both I embossed a piece of white card then cut an appperture using SB dies. I then mat and layered this onto some card stock using a patterned paper  between the layers. One card had bakers twine added with a poinsetta embellishment - I really like these, they finish the cards off lovely. These are good cards to batch make which I did intend to do but you know me....I never repeat a card!

Well that's me done for now. At least my fingers still work to type. Until next time...Lea x

Got there in the end - happy, happy, happy!

Good evening all, how are you all this lovely autumn eve?

As the title says I finally did it - I finished Alf's card. Oh boy what a nightmare it's been. I had to come completely away from it for a day. Well I settled down to it again earlier and finally ended up with a reasonable card. I had to completely discard the SB shape I'd used originally and turn to the ones you see. I added in a little blue which really gave it a lift. Phew am I relieved as Alf's birthday is Saturday. I truly thought I was going to a card shop. Even Mr B raised his eyebrows when I suggested that!

Well I might go celebrate with a glass of orange juice. Then I'm going to do some blog hopping to see what you've been up to. Catch you all soon. Take care...Lea x

Woe is me

Good evening all

Well I have no card to show at the moment. I am just so frustrated so I decided I would rant to those who I felt would understand my plight.

My youngest son Alf is 21 on Saturday and the card I want to make for him is going nowhere. My mojo has upped and cleared off just when I need it the most. So far the card has had three different guises all of which I'm not happy with. I have been using stamps to write the sentiment but think I must try a different tact tomorrow and use the PC. I am not happy with the choices of colour...I reckon I need to start from scratch tomorrow. I even toyed with going to buy one from the (cough, splutter) shop! I haven't bought one for 18 months.

Right moan over...thank you so much for listening (reading) and hopefully now it's off my chest I might be able to come up with some new ideas. I'll let you all know. Thanks again....Lea x
