Lazy!

Well good afternoon all

Gosh I am struggling to get moving today (I was going to write this morning and realised the morning has passed me by somehow). I have no get up and go at all. Mr B is waiting for a shopping list off me - he does the weekly shop, I instruct him
on what to buy. Even after looking in the cupboards and the fridge I can't think. He might just have to ad lib today!

The card I've made to show is a Christmas card. I used some new bordabilities dies from SB. I love them so you will probably see them creep onto a lot of my future cards. The sentiment is from Diesires sentimentals which is a fab set of Christmas sentiments. I'm sure this will be a great card to batch make.

Right I am off now before Mr B gives me a telling off for being so lazy. Until tomorrow....Lea x

Tizzy Ted!

Hello again all

Well not so long between posts this time. I feel like I am just about on the ball again now. I have been preparing for returning to work on Monday. Where, oh where has the school holidays gone (I have no doubt there are parents out there thinking it has dragged)? I think my crafting head has arrived back from Greece now as I have made a couple of Christmas cards and a birthday card.

I got a little carried away with this card - it has a bit of just about everything on it. I know I have used this image a few times in different colourways but it never seizes to amaze me how different it looks each time. For some reason my lace ended up upside down to what I had intended but it's ok I guess.

I am off to do some more Christmas cards now so until tomorrow....Lea x

Christmas!

Hiya everyone, I hope this finds you well.

Well can you believe it, I have just returned from my summer hols and now I am beavering away over Christmas cards. I decided I need to get my head down because I refuse point blank to frequent a card shop. I can't remember the last time I bought a card - it must be 18 months now.

Fortunately I have some toppers and card stock left from last year and although I very rarely use toppers they are handy when you want to make quite a few cards for those people that are acquaintances rather than those you make those 'special' cards for.

The card I am posting today is so simple but I'm really pleased with it so shall probably make some more similar ones in different colour ways. The bit I mounted on to glitter card was waste that I kept from last year 'just in case'. I already had a snowflake cut from last year too. I just added a snowflake embellishment I bought the other week along with some faux pearls and there you have it.

 Well I guess that's all from me today...Lea x

Back in the saddle!

Hiya all

Well I have only just got back in the crafting groove. I have found it really hard to find my feet since my hols...too much relaxing methinks. I've spent the last couple of days making a few cards from my favourite Camden Town kit. I have managed to get myself ahead family birthday wise for more or less the rest of the year. I have about four left to do. I thought I would show one card from Camden Town and one that I have made using my stamps.

First off a Camden Town....

I have no idea why my photos lately don't seem very good. I have always taken them on my iPhone but lately the quality is not so clever. Anyway the card uses lots of elements from the kit and I've added a football charm, some bakers twine and some bling.
The second card is one of my favourite digistamps. The ted is from the Tizzy and Tumble Ted CD. I've used stamps for the sentiment. The argyle pattern is from my fave Inkydoodles stamps. I wrapped bakers twine round this and added a button. A little bit of bling and bakers twine shoe laces finish the card.

Well hopefully I can get back into the swing properly now. Hope to catch you again soon....Lea x

Good to be back...or not?

Hello all

Well I am coming down from holiday mode. Ironing is all done, top floor of house cleaned within an inch of its life. Two floors to go.

I have pulled out my crafting bits so it's all systems go. I have made a pretty girls card as a starter. The image is from some Kanban stamps I have if my memory serves me well. The way my brain is going as I get older I could be wrong.

I coloured the image ages ago. It's just been waiting to be used. The photos probably don't do it justice. The light has rebounded off the mirror card where I used a flash.

Anyway that's me for today. I have some dishes calling me to be washed so I must away. Until next time....Lea x

The traveller returns!

Good morning lovely people

Well I have no card to show as I have just returned from the wonderful Greek island of zakynthos. I am currently working my way through a mountain of washing (and ironing and you all know how much I just lurrrrvve that!). I'm sure me and Mr B didn't wear all the clothes etc on my kitchen floor. It has been a lovely break - we have just read and chilled by the pool followed by eating followed by cocktails. It is the twelfth year going to Tsilivi. We go because our first year there we made friends with a lovely Greek family. We have watched the children grow up. They own a bar called Friends which is named that in honour of all the friends they have acquired over the years. We have also known their mad barman Illias all these years too (unfortunately they are shutting this year as business has dropped loads due to many hotels going all inclusive).

Anyway as I said it has been wonderful...now I look forward to getting back to my crafting. As some of you know I craft in my living room surrounded by my wares but I actually put all my stuff away tidily as I wasn't here for the two weeks - I wonder how long before it is spread everywhere again? As I said unfortunately washing and ironing is the priority job :(

I am going to have a quick scoot round the blogs to see what has been going on and what wonderful creations you've  made while I've been gone. Will catch you all very soon. Good to be back....Lea x

Post 104

Oh my goodness me folks!

I am truly gobsmacked to find this is my 104th post to date. I hadn't realised until I was nosying around my blog. Have I really had that much to say (my father would say 'yes definately' as he thinks I could talk for England). I must admit I won't be around for the next few weeks as I am going to be extremely busy elsewhere (smiles happily!).

Anyway to my card for today. Before I show you it I would just like to say I still have not found a style I'm sticking to - is this unusual? I seem to like doing what comes to mind on the day but looking at most people's blogs I'm finding most stick to their own.......(help! I can't think of the word I'm looking for....I blame my age!). Will the day come when I do?

Now do you see what I mean? I actually really like this card for it's simplicity. The card base is the hammered effect type and is so nice I just didn't want to cover it up so I kept things very simple. I will probably do this type of card again.

Anyway enough waffling from me. Will catch up with you all again very soon but as I said I've got a lot on  in  the next few weeks so it could be sporadic....Lea x

A wedding card

Hi everyone.

Gosh this is becoming a habit again....managing to blog two days on the trot. It's not the middle of the night this time though! I've had a chilled day today. I've managed to craft and just generally play around with my crafty bits. I've even watched a bit of Create and Craft which is unusual when there's a test match on the TV!

My card is sort of a take on one I did for Mr B for our anniversary but this is a larger version. I always liked the original version but I felt it was on too smaller card base. I am quite into 8 x 8 scallop cards at the moment so that's what I made. I included a sentiment this time too. I did the card in grey and white papers backed onto black but I felt it needed a boost of colour hence I added the pink bow and gems.

I prefer this version to the original. 8 x 8 is the way to go.

Anyway I am off now. Hope to catch you again tomorrow.....Lea x

Different again

Hi all

Well I am blogging in the early hours. Have a ton if stuff to do in the morning so thought I'd he this done now!

Well I can tell you I struggled to make a card yesterday. Nothing I did seemed to look right. In the end I abandoned it all for a couple of hours and went back to it in the evening.

This is what I came up in the end. I'm not sure what made me put the two brown and green spotty papers together but I think they're ok (although Mr B disagrees). Well I suppose each to their own hey!  Well I'm off. Sorry it's a bit short today. Catch you again soon...Lea x

Flowers!

Good morning... Just!

I thought I would blog a bit earlier today. The sun has disappeared. Back to a normal British gloomy day.

Well my card today is very different for me. I have started an online shop (cardsbybrawny) on folksy.com so am experimenting with different styles. I must say I'm quite pleased with this one. I started off by using an embossing folder to get the blue centre layer. I used my SB dies to do the cutout centres on the black and cream layers which I raised with sticky pads. I added my usual ribbon and bling. The flowers were also made from an SB die. I did about six layers to get a fuller flower.

Well I'm off to do a few jobs now. Until tomorrow...Lea x

Tulips

Hello everyone out there in blogland

I hope this finds you all well. I have been AWOL for a couple of days.

Well can you believe we are in August already? Where has the year gone? I'm sure the older I get the quicker the years go.

I am lucky enough to have had a lovely crafting day today - I have thoroughly enjoyed it. My card that I am posting today is all pretty in pink (actually I've made two pink ones today but you'll have to wait for the next one).

I used an embossing folder to get my strip of tulips. The picture isn't as clear as I would have liked it to be.  I backed some pink striped paper onto a pink backing paper and made a centre panel with the tulips. I added some ribbon, bling and a birthday sentiment and that was it done! It was a very simple card to put together.

Well I am off to catch up on my blogger friends websites to see what they've been up to. Until tomorrow...Lea x
